National e-Payment Roadshow 2017

Following the success of Karnival Kewangan organised by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in Kuala Lumpur in January 2017, we will be organising similar events at five major cities nationwide. The first series of the program, which is scheduled to be held in April 2017, will be focusing on creating awareness on electronic payment (e-payment), especially on the initiative to migrate to PIN-based payment cards.

In this regard, BNM in collaboration with the Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM), the Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM), National Cards Group (NCG) and selected Government agencies will be conducting the National e-Payment Roadshow 2017 (Roadshow) at Seberang Perai, Pulau Pinang (13 April), Johor Bahru, Johor (19 April) and Kota Bharu, Kelantan (27 April). 

The main objectives of the Roadshow are to promote the PIN and Pay initiative, as well as to create awareness among individuals and businesses on the benefits of e-payment, its features, access and pricing, and to educate the public on safe practices when conducting financial transactions using e-payment. During the Roadshow, banking institutions, payment system operators and payment service providers will be showcasing their latest products on card acceptance and online banking, besides offering various incentives and promotional packages to participants.

Township campaigns on payment card acceptance
Concurrent with the Roadshow, NCG will be organising series of township campaigns from 1 April 2017 to 31 October 2017 to encourage businesses to accept payment from their customers via debit and credit cards. Various promotional offers and incentives will be offered at participating bank branches.

The 13 participating banks are *Affin Bank Berhad (Affin), Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (Alliance), AmBank Malaysia Berhad (AmBank), Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB), CIMB Bank Berhad (CIMB), Citibank Berhad (Citibank), Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLBB), Malayan Banking Berhad (MBB), OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (OCBC), Public Bank Berhad (PBB),RHB Bank Berhad (RHB) , Bank Rakyat and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (UOB).

Businesses are encouraged to visit the participating bank branches during the campaign period to take advantage of the attractive offers.  Details are provided in the table below:
