2015 National e-Payment Roadshow - Moving Forward with e-Payments

Bank Negara Malaysia in collaboration with the Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM), the Association of Islamic Banking Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM) and the National Cards Group (NCG) will be conducting a series of e-payment roadshow at 6 major states to create awareness on e-payments. This year, the main objectives of the roadshow are to create awareness of the developments in the payment industry and to educate the public on e-payment services. The first roadshow will be held in Penang on 26 May 2015, followed by Johor Bahru, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching and Kuala Lumpur. During the roadshow, banking institutions and payment system operators will be showcasing their products on card acceptance and online banking, and offer various incentives and promotions for businesses to accept payment card and use online banking.

Township campaigns on payment card acceptance

Concurrent with the e-payment roadshow, NCG will be organising a series of township campaigns at 7 states, namely, Penang, Johor, Kelantan, Sabah, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor from May to December 2015, to encourage businesses to accept payment from their customers via debit and credit cards. Various promotional offers and incentives will be offered at participating bank branches.

The participating banks are *Affin Bank Berhad (Affin), Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad (Alliance), AmBank Malaysia Berhad (AmBank), Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (BIMB), Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia Berhad (BKR), CIMB Bank Berhad (CIMB), Citibank Berhad (Citibank), Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLBB), Malayan Banking Berhad (MBB), OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (OCBC), Public Bank Berhad (PBB), RHB Bank Berhad (RHB) and United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (UOB).

Businesses are encouraged to visit the participating bank branches during the campaign period to take advantage of the attractive offers.  Details are provided in the table below.
