The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia amounted to RM417.2 billion (equivalent to USD131 billion) as at 30 September 2011. The reserves level as at 30 September 2011 has taken into account the quarterly adjustment for foreign exchange revaluation gain, following the strengthening of some of the major currencies against the ringgit during the quarter. The reserves position is sufficient to finance 9.7 months of retained imports and is 4.5 times the short-term external debt.
