The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia amounted to RM406.3 billion (equivalent to USD134.3 billion) as at 30 June 2011, after taking into account the quarterly foreign exchange revaluation gain, following the strengthening of some major currencies against the ringgit during the quarter. The reserves position is sufficient to finance 9.6 months of retained imports and is 4.5 times the short-term external debt.
