This discussion paper outlines Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) proposed approach and views on the development and adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Malaysian financial sector. BNM is committed to fostering responsible AI adoption across the financial sector that enhances consumer outcomes and our broader policy objectives.

This discussion paper aims to gather feedback that will inform BNM's regulatory and development approach for AI in the financial sector.

BNM welcomes written feedback on the issues raised in this discussion paper, including suggestions for specific issues, areas that require clarification or elaboration, and alternative proposals BNM should consider. To facilitate an effective review, feedback should be supported by a clear rationale, relevant evidence and/or illustrative examples.
