We wish to bring to the public's attention on several articles published in today's Bahasa Malaysia and English newspapers highlighting "Bestino Golden House Sdn. Bhd. promising to refund the investments made by their investors".

It was mentioned in the article that the "firm would return monies to investors, and that it would be paid back through an administrator agreed to by Bank Negara Malaysia".

We wish to notify the public that any arrangement announced by Bestino Golden House Sdn. Bhd. in the news report is a private arrangement between Bestino Golden House Sdn. Bhd. and its investors. Bank Negara Malaysia is not involved in any such proposal.

The case against the Bestino Golden House Sdn. Bhd. directors is on-going and the next date of hearing is fixed on 19 September 2011. Four directors of Bestino Golden House Sdn. Bhd. were charged at Ipoh Sessions Court on 23 February 2011 for offences of illegal deposit taking under section 25(1) of the Banking and Financial Institutions Act (BAFIA) 1989 and section 4(1) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001 (AMLATFA).
