In providing greater access and opportunity for the public to interface with Bank Negara Malaysia, the Bank today launched its mobile customer service coach "MobileLINK" in a ceremony at Sasana Kijang. The launch of MobileLINK is a part of the Bank's efforts in promoting financial inclusion by extending the outreach to a wider community. It complements the existing channels of LINK (Laman Informasi Nasihat dan Khidmat) currently available at Bank Negara Malaysia's main office and five nationwide offices; Bank Negara Malaysia's call centre, BNMTELELINK (1-300-88-5465); and BNMLINK mobile counter services in semi-urban areas.
MobileLINK extends BNMLINK's advisory services using a custom made coach equipped with the supporting facilities and technologies. In addition to enhancing access to basic banking services to the public in collaboration with financial institutions, MobileLINK also provides advisory services on banking, insurance & takaful and SMEs financing related matters; information on personal credit through Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS); information on Bank Negara Malaysia through self service web-based terminal made available in the coach; and advisory services on other financial related matters under the purview of Bank Negara Malaysia.
MobileLINK will start its journey on 17 December 2011 from Mersing, Johor and will continue to travel to other semi-urban and rural areas throughout Malaysia. For further information on the MobileLINK service schedule and destinations, members of the public can visit Bank Negara Malaysia's website www.bnm.gov.my or Facebook page www.facebook.com/bnm.official.
