Governor Nor Shamsiah recently spoke to the Responsible Investor magazine on the Bank’s efforts in the area of sustainable finance.

Chief among them are the Bank’s leadership in the production of a landmark report on the role of ASEAN central banks in managing climate and environment-related risks, and a planned introduction of a green taxonomy to improve climate-related risk disclosures by financial institutions.

As a member of the Network for Greening of the Financial System (NGFS), a group of central banks committed to green supervisory initiatives; and the Joint Committee on Climate Change (JC3) with Securities Commission Malaysia; the Bank is on track to position itself as a regional authority in sustainable finance.
